What is the best time to visit Tuscany?

Late spring (May–June) and early autumn (September–October) are the sweet spots, warm, long days without the peak-summer heat and crowds. September is especially lovely, with the grape harvest and golden evening light over the hills.

July and August are hot and busy, particularly in Florence; winter is quiet and atmospheric, ideal for city sightseeing and food, if cooler for the countryside.
