How Head Your Way maps the world

Head Your Way is a map of how real places connect by train, ferry, coach, cruise, road and air. It is built as a graph — places are nodes, transport services are the edges between them — so you can start anywhere and see what to do there and where you can go next.

Places

Every place is a canonical node with a Head Your Way-owned identity, compiled from open geographic and transport data. Where two places share a name, we keep them distinct by country and coordinates rather than merging them, so Barcelona in Spain is never confused with a same-named place elsewhere.

Connections

The connections between places are rebuilt from published transport data — station and route records, ferry and port schedules, coach and rail networks, and scheduled air routes. We record which mode connects two places and where that evidence came from. We do not invent timetables or fares; a connection appears only where real data supports it.

Fact versus inference

Every field carries its provenance. Facts drawn straight from a source are kept separate from anything Head Your Way infers, and each is dated to when it was observed. Uncertain matches are held for review rather than published, so the graph stays trustworthy as it grows.

What to do in a place

On each place we show what there is to do there, drawn from real, rated activity inventory. These are informational on the place itself; when you choose to book an activity you are handed off to the operator that sells it.

Booking

Head Your Way never sells, bundles or prices a trip. Every flight, ferry, stay or activity is booked independently with the operator that provides it. When you choose to continue, Head Your Way records a non-sensitive click and forwards you via an authorised affiliate link where one exists for your market; we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We never fire those links automatically, and the exploration graph itself carries no booking prompts.
