How many days do you need in İzmit?

Most visitors spend half a day to a full day visiting the Kocaeli Museum, one or two mosques, and perhaps the SEKA Paper Museum. The naval vessels USS Eversole and USS Gudgeon merit 1-2 hours each if you're interested in warship history. Unless you're specifically researching the city's history or using it as a base for exploring Kocaeli Province, there is rarely enough to justify more than one overnight stay.
