Dalian

Overview

Dalian is the second largest city in Liaoning Province and the largest port in northern China. Dalian sits at the southern tip of the Liaodong Peninsula, with the main city on its own sub-peninsula and the port north of the centre. After the Russo-Japanese war of 1904-5 the city passed to Japan and was renamed Dairen.

• Tram route 201 runs from Xinggong Street near Shahekou Railway Station to Haizhiyun (Rhythm of the Sea) Park on the coast.
• Metro line 1 runs from Yaojia in the northern suburbs to Hekou in the south, while line 2 runs from the Airport to Haizhiyvn in the east.
