Overview

Weifang lies in central Shandong, between Jinan to the west and Qingdao to the east. Weifang carries the title Kite Capital of the World. Yangjiabu village in Hanting District is known for nianhua wood-block prints and for making kites.

The kite museum's building takes its shape from Weifang's centipede kites, with a roof formed as a complete dragon. The Kite Factory is outside Weifang in YangJiaPu, reached by bus #5 to the last stop. Shihu Garden dates from the late Ming and early Qing, and Fangong Pavilion from the Song dynasty. Each year on or around April 20th the International Kite Festival takes place.
