Narela, a north Delhi suburb near the Haryana border, lies 30 km from central New Delhi. Development of the Narela Industrial Area began in the early 1980s.
Excavations at the Bhor Garh site near Narela in 1992-93 and 1993-94 found Late Harappan artifacts from the Indus Valley Civilization.
